A challenge for me during making my pants was pinning the original fabric onto the straight grain. I originally didn’t even know what straight grain meant. After some help from Miss Webster and Mrs Reeves educating me about straight grain and how to pin fabric. It was difficult as the front fabric was a little smaller than the back fabric. Some of the fabric also frayed away a little bit when it was washed but by cutting the fabric it was sorted easily. I am now very confident in pinning fabric in the textiles classroom.

Don’t ever buy pants when you can make your very own pants which will save you money and you can style them anyway you want! In my textiles class this term we are making a pair of trendy stylish pants. I feel I have come a long way from the start of the term developing my skills and completing many steps to making my pants. I am really enjoying making these pants and can’t wait to see the final result.

The step I am currently up to is the waistband. I have cut it out and am ready to sew it onto my pants. Hopefully today the waistband is sewn on. This will help make my pants very fitting. There will not be very many steps after the waistband. I can’t wait to see how these pants turn out! Keep checking my blog page if you are interested to see the final product.
